Since Stace Dunkle installed the original Fuzzy Monkey classifieds software, the subject line for ads has always been described as 5-50 characters, and we’ve had different cautions in the guidelines against longer subject lines or odd characters in the subject line.

Today’s update to the classifieds includes a check of subject line length, and truncates overly long subjects. This will make the formatting of category and search pages cleaner for many users.

My apologies for any inconvenience to advertisers. The body of the ad remains unchanged, with a length limit of 3,000 characters.
