couple of bug fixes
Today I pushed out some bug fixes to the classifieds.
One was in the My Messages outbox where some sent messages had been successfully sent, but where not showing up. This has been fixed now.
The other was with the dealer program where a page was throwing an error.
Thanks,
Chris
Message Waiting Notices
For the last week the notices regarding messages waiting were not going out. Please check if you haven’t recently.
The messages are there, but the notices regarding them were not going out.
My apologies for the inconvenience.

email address for classifieds
I understand that google pulled the plug on the email accounts for PennsWoods somewhere around 6:30 this afternoon.
You should use classifieds@losch.net if you need to get hold of me.
Thanks!
Chris
Amazon Payments
Amazon is ending the payment system that PennsWoods has been using for the last 6 or 7 years. While I consider Amazon Payments to be an excellent system, I’ve had difficulty making changes with Amazon in the past.
If you’ve recently made a payment via Amazon, there shouldn’t be any problem with it. I will shortly be removing Amazon based payment options from the site however.
Thanks,
Chris
Email Address Change
PennsWoods.net email addresses are in the process of being discontinued.
Please update your address books, as I am now using classifieds@losch.net for communication regarding PW Classifieds.
The address of the website will remain UNCHANGED!
Emails previously sent to classifieds@pennswoods.net have been moved to classifieds@losch.net, and currently emails being sent to classifieds@pennswoods.net are being forwarded to classifieds@losch.net. I don’t know how long that will continue.
I apologize, one of the side effects of this is that I am quite a bit behind in responding to emails. I hope to be caught back up in the next few days.
Thanks,
Chris
MyMessages Delete Option
A popular request has been for a means to delete existing messages under ‘My Messages’. I intended to provide this but didn’t have it ready at launch time.
This is in place now. Thanks!
Scammers Creating Fake Government Websites
IC3, the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center is reporting an uptick in scammers faking US Goverment websites.
I’m pointing it out here mostly as a reminder that these criminals are everywhere, and come up with really surprising approaches to separate Americans from their hard earned dollars.

Youth Protection Training
This announcement is for our “official” council members(Chad, Christine, and Jeff) as well as our “unlisted” members that may be interested. Youth protection training can be found at http://www.scouting.org/Training/Adult.aspx . Once you are on the first page click on youth protection training online. The next page will ask you to create a “my scouting” account then select youth protection training once again. You will be directed to a page listing the possible online training available through scouting. Look under the Cub Scout tab and select the youth protection training. The prompts guide you to completion of it. Once you have print out the certificate and give it to me.
Also, there is a pack committee training that is recommended. It is under the cub scout tab as well.
There is no rush to get this done. Thank you everyone for your assistance in the scouting program.
